Principal – Ben Mettam

Ben brings to the Academy over twenty years of Community Theatre acting and directing experience. Serving as committee member, President, Vice President, Treasurer and Producer for the Tamworth Musical Society for many years.

Ben has previously completed directing workshops with Bill Blaikie, as well as the facilitator training workshop as part of Outback Theatre for Young People’s Regional Arts Connect.

His Theatre credits include:  The Pirates of Penzance, Fiddler on the Roof, Les Miserables, A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum, Cinderella, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Lend Me a Tenor, A Night on Broadway with Peter Cousens, The Music Man, Dorothea, West Side Story, Christmas is Coming, Thunderbolt, Beauty and the Beast, Blood Brothers, The Music Man, The Mouse Trap, The Sound of Music, Seussical, Boise, Idaho, Annie, and most recently, Nell Gwynn. His Directing credits include Into the Woods, Still Singing, Company, Neil Simon’s Rumors and Jesus Christ Superstar.
